Is EU legislation too complicated? We asked citizens in Austria in three events

BürgerInnen Forum Europa has realised three events in Austria aiming to ask citizens about what they think about EU legislation and how EU communication could become more easy to understand.
In January, we realised the first Citizen Dialogue as part of the EU-funded project Understanding EU . In this project we want to create a more inclusive way of make EU communication more understandable and explain some aspects of the EU legislation in easy language. The more people know, the more they can participate. The insights from the people gave us important feedback for the next steps as well as an overview of what European citizens think is important to make EU communication easier.
Thanks to the Paris Lodron Universität Salzburg – School of Education – European Integration for hosting us and for the interesting insights from citizens.
The second citizen dialogue was realised in Vienna through the support of Euth, again with valuable feedback from citizens. Additionally, we have organised one expert session bringing together experts from communication and the legal field.
